The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F/A-18 Hornet is a supersonic, all-weather multi-role combat aircraft carrier designed to attack both ground and air targets. The F/A-18 is derived from the YF-17 in 1970 for use by the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The Hornet is also used by the air forces of many other countries. Has the whip antenna demonstration flight demonstration for the U. S. Navy Squadron, the Blue Angels in 1986.
